One of the first things we do once you have arrived for your appointment is take you to our paraffin hand wax station. Paraffin wax is used often in salons to remove dead skin and moisturize your hands. Once the dead skin is removed, your hands feel soft and smooth with a pleasant scent. There is no better feeling for your dry skin in the winter months, but this hand waxing experience makes you feel pampered year round! The effects of the paraffin hand wax accomplish more than soft hands, this wax is also used in heat therapy which makes it great for our patients that suffer from arthritis. This relaxing wax increases blood flow, improves joint stiffness, and reduces pain. That is only one perk our plaza dentist office offers, there are more!
Once seated in our cushioned chair with a soft pillow, we offer complimentary nitrous oxide, or you may recognize it’s nickname “laughing gas”. We use a mixture of nitrous with oxygen, so it is safe to use, and within 2-5 minutes its relaxing effects wash over you. It relieves pain, anxiety, and even relieves your gag reflex if you are one who has trouble with that at the dentist office. It can be adjusted as needed during your procedure and leaves your body within 3-5 minutes, so you can leave clear headed and able to drive yourself home or back to work. Some oral medications given for dental anxiety stay in your system for long periods of time, and require you to have a chauffeur to drive you. But nitrous leaves your system quickly with no lingering groggy effects. Giving complementary nitrous is another reason our plaza dentist office is the right choice for you!
Once you are seated and relaxed, we can start your movie or concert video. That’s right I said start your movie! Our plaza dentist office has flat screen monitors on our ceiling so you don’t have to struggle to view. You simply lay back and watch one of your favorite movies while your treatment is being done. We always keep an assortment of newly released movies, classic dramas or classic comedies, and music concert videos from your favorite artists. We also have standup comic videos that will have you laughing through your whole appointment! Once the appointment is through, some patients don’t even want to leave if the movie has not ended, but don’t worry we will keep track of where you ended so you can finish it at your next appointment with us! We are all aware of the distraction watching a great movie can cause, getting lost in the characters can make your appointment time fly by.
Before you know it… it’s time to leave!!! We will rinse your mouth and clean up any messes we may have made. Our plaza dentist team makes it a priority that every time you leave our office you leave feeling great, with soft hands, fresh breath, and a glistening smile!
