Humana Dental is a PPO which means it is a Preferred Provider Organization.  This means that you can go to any dentist that you want.  If your dentist is a Preferred Provider then you will receive your dental care at the Humana Dental rate?  If your dentist is not a Preferred Provider, then you will pay more for your dental services.  Either way, the choice is yours. 

Humana Dental lets you pick your dentist instead of having one assigned for you.  This allows you to pick the dentist you want and the treatment you want, instead of whatever may be the cheapest treatment that the insurance company will pay for. 

Unlike many dental plans, Humana Dental Insurance doesn’t have waiting periods.  This means that you do not have to wait for 6 months to one year to use your dental insurance.  Also, Humana Dental has generous yearly maximums.  Most Humana Dental insurance plans have a yearly maximum of $1,500-$2,000.  This makes it possible for our patients to complete more of their needed dental treatment each year and avoid more costly treatments that result by waiting for the next year’s benefits to become available. 

Also, we have found that Humana Dental is very fair with the dental services they allow and they are simple and easy to understand.  Humana Dental insurance normally allows for 100% Preventive, 80% Basic, and 50% Major coverage.  This means that Humana Dental pays for all of your dental cleanings and x-rays, most of your fillings, and half of your crowns and bridges.  In our opinion, Humana Dental is very fair.

Humana Dental has been around for a long time.  Going to a Humana Preferred Provider means you will always receive the best care at the best price.  By going to a Humana Dental Preferred Provider you will have less out of pocket expenses including deductibles, co-pays, and limitations on your treatment.  With new dental insurance companies popping up all the time, it is nice to know that Humana Dental has a long history of providing beneficial dental treatment to our patients.
